DC Gals Take on DC

Accessibility Statement

Everyone should be able to find their people here.

Our Commitment

DC Gals exists so that no one in this city has to feel alone – and that has to include people with disabilities. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA on this website and to make our in-person events as welcoming and usable as we can.

On This Website

We’ve built this site with readable text sizes, strong colour contrast between text and backgrounds, descriptive alternative text on photos, keyboard-navigable menus and buttons, and a layout that reflows cleanly on phones and at high zoom levels.

At Our Events

Event listings include venue accessibility details wherever we have them – step-free entry, elevator access, seating, and restroom information. If a detail you need is missing from a listing, email us before the event and we’ll find out for you.

Accommodations

Tell us what you need and we’ll do our best to make it happen: a quieter table, a seat near the entrance, help getting into a venue, or a heads-up about what to expect when you arrive. There’s no form and no proof required – just ask.

Where We're Still Working

Some photos on older Instagram posts don’t yet have alt text, and the accessibility information on a few venues is incomplete. We’re working through both. If you hit a barrier anywhere – on the site or at an event – please tell us; we treat it as a bug and fix it.
